Man falls from cliff at lookout

Just after 5:30pm yesterday, Saturday, June 25, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter flew to Razorback Lookout in Evans Head after reports a 60 year old man had fallen 15 metres from a cliff.

It was reported that the man had fallen as he tried to get to the rocks below to go fishing.

Paramedics and emergency services attended the scene but because of the steep cliff were unable to reach the fallen man.

Because of the limited access the helicopter critical care medical team was winched down to the patient so the crew could treat him.

The man had suspected spinal injuries, multiple fractures and a head injury.

Once he was stabilised, he was stretcher winched from the cliff and flown directly to the Princess Alexandria Hospital in Brisbane in a serious but stable condition.
