Police received information that a man wanted for outstanding domestic violence offences was at an address in Boronia Crescent, Casino at 2.40pm yesterday, Sunday May 5.
When police arrived the man, 30, eluded police by fleeing through the rear of the property and jumping several fences.
The police dog unit was called and tracking of the man led police to a nearby residence where the man was in the ceiling trying to hide under the ceiling insulation.
Police tried talking the man down but it was unsuccessful.
The police rescue squad was called to remove the man from the ceiling.
The man was taken to Lismore Police Station and charged with outstanding domestic violence matters as well as assaulting and resisting police.
He was refused bail and is in court today, Monday, May 6.
