Man trapped in his car in floodwaters at Rappville

Emergency services rushed to Bailey Street to help a man trapped in his car in floodwaters.

At 11am, today, Sunday, March 9, emergency services rushed to assist a car stuck in floodwaters at Bailey Street, near Rappville.

When the VRA Rescue NSW strike team arrived, they found a car off the road stuck in floodwaters near some trees.

The VRA team included out-of-area swift water operators as well as boat and land-based operators and a composite crew from the SES.

Swift water technicians entered the water and rescued a man in his 80s who had been in the water for some time.

He was transported through the water by an inflatable raft known as the Ark Angel.

Paramedics were there to assess the man’s condition. There were no physical injuries and the man was taken to Casino to meet up with his daughter.

Emergency services remind everyone to never walk, ride, wade or enter floodwater of any kind.
