Many schools closed on Monday, some have minimal supervision, no bus services

Travel is difficult because of floodwaters, buses are not operating and tap water is still an issue in Casino.

Casino Bus Service will not be running tomorrow, Monday, February 28

Casino Public School

Due to staffing shortages caused by flooding across the local and surrounding area, Casino Public School will only be operational tomorrow, Monday February 28, with minimal supervision. Normal classes will not be running and the town water supply is still not safe for drinking.

Casino Christian School

The school is closed Monday 28 due to this unprecedented rain event We will update tomorrow afternoon regarding Tuesday. Stay safe and dry.

Casino West Public School

Minimal supervision: Due to flooding across the local and surrounding area Casino West Public School will experience many staffing shortages on Monday February 28. Normal classes will not be running and the town water supply is still not safe for drinking. Please consider this if you need to send your children to school.

Casino High School

Due to staffing shortages caused by flooding across the local and surrounding area, Casino High School will be operating with minimal supervision tomorrow, Monday, February 28. Normal classes will not be running. Most bus services will also not be running.

Coraki

Coraki Public School will be operational tomorrow, but with minimum supervision. 

Kyogle High School

After considering the weather forecast and predicted flood levels in Kyogle, Lismore and Casino, Kyogle High School will be nonoperational Monday, February 28. We have made this early call to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff. Please stay safe Kyogle Community.

Wiangaree Public School

The school will be non-operational tomorrow, Monday, February 28. Contact you school in the morning to confirm their arrangements for the week.

The Risk Public School

The Risk will be non-operational tomorrow, Monday 28 February 28. There is a severe weather warning in place. The school will keep each family updated.

Evans River K-12

Due to local road closures the school will only be able to offer minimal supervision tomorrow Monday, February 28.  Families are asked to keep students home wherever possible. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause. The safety of our students and staff are the focus at this time.

Woodburn

Woodburn Public School will be open on Monday, February 28, but school will be operating under minimal supervision. If possible, we encourage parents to keep children at home. Our buses that service the Grafton direction, New Italy, Swan Bay, Coraki and Lismore are all cancelled as well as the Killer Whale bus (Broadwater, Evans Head). For any students who need to be at school, please be aware that our ‘Drop & Kiss’ zone near the bus shelter may have water impacting that area and to seek the most suitable drop off spot. Please be patient and safe.

Urbenville

School will be operational tomorrow. Ms Stubbings will be teaching. For those in flood areas…. ‘ if it’s flooded, forget it.’

Bonalbo Central School

Due to the current heavy rain event and predictions of flooding in our region, Bonalbo Central School will be non-operational tomorrow, Monday. February 28, for all students and staff. We will assess the on-going situation and advise about Tuesday. We apologise for the disruption.

No buses will be running tomorrow for our students.

Old Bonalbo, Tabulam and Drake Public School will also be non-operational.
