New cops on the beat

Four fresh probationary constables will be on the beat in Richmond and Clarence valleys.

State MP Richie Williamson announced the four new recruits who were part of the Class 358 attestation at the Goulburn Police Academy,

The Richmond District only gets one officer, the other three will operate in Clarence.

Mr Williamson said the new probationary constables follow on from the 12 who joined local police districts in April.  

They are part of a record 1500 increase in NSW Police.

The new recruits will report to their respective stations for work on Monday and will then complete 12 months on-the-job training and study by distance education with Charles Sturt University.
