New covid case in Casino linked to funeral in Nambucca Heads

One new covid case was reported in the Northern Rivers today.
The new case is in the Casino area and is linked to a cluster of cases on the Mid North Coast associated with a funeral held in Lions Park in Nambucca Heads on October 23.
Anyone who attended the funeral is asked to isolate immediately, get tested and remain isolated until they receive a negative result or are contacted directly by NSW Health.
The North Coast Public Health Unit is working to assess whether people who attended the funeral will be classified as close or casual contacts.

The total number of cases in the Northern NSW Local Health District since June 16 is now 123.

Sewage detections were reported in Byron Bay and Mullumbimby.
This is the second consecutive detection for the Byron Bay treatment plant.
NSW has recorded 268 new locally acquired cases of covid.
One new case was acquired overseas and 16 cases have been excluded following further investigation.
The total number of cases in NSW since the beginning of the pandemic is 74,698.

NSW Health reported the deaths of two people from covid today.
