It is going to take some time to clear a severe landslip on the Bruxner Hwy between Mallanganee and Mummulgum on the way to Casino.

The highway is a state road with Kyogle Council doing most of the work under contract arrangements.

Kyogle Council’s general manager Graham Kennett said there was no timeline available at this point for the restoration of access.

“All agencies are assessing the damage across the region and doing their best with the limited resources that can access priority issues such as this one,” Mr Kennett said.

Locals are getting to Casino by using the Bulmers Rd diversion.

Bulmers Rd is a ragged, dirt road and extra care needs to be taken when using this diversion.

For west of the range residents needing supplies, the road to Tenterfield is clear.
