There is always news about bridges in the Kyogle LGA — fixing them, replacing them, funding them.
Here’s some good news — the Cedar Point Bridge reopens after 8am today, Friday, February 6.
And Kyogle Council has announced a new date for the official opening of Grieve Crossing Bridge — the largest bridge the council has ever built.
The opening was postponed twice after the Bondi Beach tragedy in December and a new date has been set for this.
The opening will now be held at the bridge at The Risk on Tuesday, February 17 at 10am, The community is invited to the opening.
The Grieve Crossing Bridge is the final bridge built and funded through the NSW Government’s Fixing Country Bridges Program.
It is the 106th bridge the council has replaced since 2021 under its once-in-a-lifetime Bridge Renewal Program.
The Grieve Crossing Bridge was funded with more than $2.5million from the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangement’s Regional Roads and Transport Recovery Package, jointly funded by the Federal and State Governments
There was also a contribution of $2.5 million from the NSW Government’s Fixing Country Bridges Program.
