There is a serious incident at Cedar Point near Kyogle where a person is believed to be trapped under a cattle loading ramp.
The highway has been closed as emergency services including police, paramedics, SES and the RFS attend the scene.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called and a female was airlifted to hospital.
Summerland Way at Cedar Point was closed to allow the rescue helicopter to land.
