PHOTOS: National park 1500ha burn completed

The hazard reduction burn in the national park near Evans Head.

The 1500hectare hazard reduction burn in Bundjalung National Park near Evans Head was completed today, Friday, August 9.

There were 70 firefighters from National Parks and Wildlife Services, the Rural Fire Service and Fire and Rescue NSW involved in the burn each day.

The NPWS said detailed planning including timing the weather conditions enabled this burn to meet the objectives of reducing bushfire risk and improving threatened species habitat.
