Imagine sitting at a picnic in an orchard.
Sun streams through the rows of peach trees between the picnic spots.
Juicy peaches hang heavy from the branches, ripe and ready to eat.
You’re sitting on a cushion, on a rug. A grazing platter of local olive tapenade, quiches, cheeses, kabana, peach relish and more sits on a low wooden table in front of you.
Soft serve ice cream with stewed peaches is served when you have had your fill of the platter.
On Sunday, October 30, there are 100 picnic spots at Southview Orchard on Hogarth Range. There are chairs and tables for the elderly who could find sitting on the ground difficult.
The special picnic event is part of the Peach Festival on Hogarth Range.
The first day is a family fun day on October 16, 9am-2pm, where you can pick your own peaches from the orchard. The Wildlife Twins will be doing an animal show at 11am. There will be coffee, a barbecue and plenty of local produce stalls. Enjoy the live music while you munch on a peach.
The picnic though is where life really slows down.
Tables of four people at $35 a person, can enjoy a picnic of peaches and take the time to enjoy each other and the live music at the peach farm.
There are two time slots for the picnic — 9.30am and 2.30pm.
There are 50 picnic places at each time slot. Book early. Book a ticket here.
