Police chase ends when car crashes into tree

On Tuesday, January 17, at about 9.40pm, Highway Patrol tried to stop a Holden Commodore with cancelled registration on West Street, Casino.

When the driver failed to stop, police pursued the car through the streets.

A short time later, the Holden’s driver lost control when trying to turn left into Convent Parade and crashed into a tree in the front yard of a home.

The young men in the car fled.

Two men, aged 17 and 18, were arrested nearby and taken to Casino Police Station.

They were later released pending further investigation.

Despite a search of the area, a third person believed to have been in the car could not be found.

Police are continuing with their inquiries.
