Police have confirmed that two men, in their 20s, have died after a car crashed over a bridge into the Richmond River at Fairy Hill yesterday, Wednesday, March 26.
Emergency services were called to Droneys Bridge Road, Fairy Hill at 10pm and a car was found submerged in the river.
Police said the car was travelling along Droneys Bridge Road, before leaving the roadway.
A woman, 22, was able to get out of the car and is uninjured.
Police Rescue and SES crews have retrieved the car from the water.
The bodies of the men were inside the car.
They are yet to be formally identified.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Road closures remain in place.
