Police seize ute linked to assault and robbery cases

Police have seized a white ute following a public appeal for information yesterday, Thursday, November 17.

The ute was connected to investigations into the assault and robbery of five men in Evans Head and Ballina in recent weeks.

It’s alleged the men were assaulted after arranging to meet a person they had communicated with online.

Detectives issued CCTV of the ute as part of a state-wide appeal for assistance.

Acting on information provided, officers searched a property on the Pacific Highway at Broadwater at about 1.20pm.

They seized a white ute and it has been taken for forensic examination. A toolbox was also seized and will also be examined.

Inquiries are continuing into the five separate alleged assaults and robberies in the Ballina and Evans Head areas between October 31 and November 12 which are believed to be linked.
