Police have arrested and charged three men and two women over an alleged brawl in Wardell.
Police were told fights broke out after 50-60 people gathered outside a property in Bath Street, Wardell at 7:40pm on Sunday, August 18, with further reports that a gun was allegedly fired.
The group dispersed before police arrived. An investigation began.
On Tuesday, September 3, a 53 year old woman was arrested in Ballina on an outstanding warrant.
Following further inquiries, police arrested a 29 year old woman, an 18 year old man and a 30 year old man yesterday, Wednesday, September 4.
The older woman has been charged with affray and faced Ballina Local Court yesterday. She has been conditionally bailed to appear in the same court on October 10.
The younger woman and two men have also been charged with affray and will face Ballina Local Court in October.
A man, 36, was arrested and has been charged with firearms offences. He was granted conditional bail to appear before Ballina Local Court on Thursday, September 12.
