Proud of the Bombers in tough final won by Jets

The Bombers colours stood out at the NRRRL Grand Final at the Bilambil sports ground.

There were way more Evans Head supporters than any others, Bombers president Greg Bryant said.

It was the first rugby league final for the Evans Head Bombers A Grade team.

Despite the huge support from their hometown, the final score was 30-18 to Bilambil Jets.

“The game was tough,” Greg said.

“Our boys put in a good performance.

“I’m very proud of them.”

Richmond Valley mayor Robert Mustow watched the game at the Evans Head Bowlo where another crowd had got together to watch the Bombers.

“It’s been a successful season,” Greg said.

And there’s always next year’s final to aim for.

League season kicks off again in April, 2023.
