The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a hazardous surf warning for the NSW coast from Tweed Heads down to Port Macquarie for today, September 27, and tomorrow.

Beach conditions in Evans Head could be dangerous and people should stay well away from the surf and surf exposed areas, BOM said.

The wet weather is impacting events planned for the weekend.

Woodburn Riverside Festival planned for Saturday, September 28 has been cancelled.

Organiser MJ Connell said, “It is with great sadness that after great discussions with professionals regarding the weather system forecast for Saturday we are cancelling the Riverside Festival for this weekend.”

“We hope to have a Woodburn Riverside Christmas Carnival on December 14.”

Refunds will be issued for: trade site registrations, online ticket purchases, campdraft central nominations and showday online entries.

There is 9–60mm of rain predicted in Kyogle for Saturday, September 28.

The monthly Kyogle Bazaar has been cancelled because of the weather.

The North Coast Futurity Cattle Dog Trial and training day planned for Rappville this weekend has also been cancelled.

Casino Farmers Market is on the bitumen instead of the grass at Crawford Square Park tomorrow, Saturday, September 28 at 8am–11am.

If you were heading to the Lismore Cup today, that has been postponed until next week and all tickets will be refunded.
