2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla essence
2 tablespoons golden syrup
1 tablespoon of milk
1 cup caster sugar
1 ½ cups plain flour
½ teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon bicarbonate soda
pinch of salt
1 cup desiccated coconut
Line two baking trays with baking paper and preheat oven to 180C.
Melt the butter in a small jug or bowl in the microwave then add the vanilla essence, egg, golden syrup and milk.
Add the rest of the dry ingredients to a large bowl and mix.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix to form the biscuit mixture.
Roll dough into small balls and place on the trays.
Bake for 15 minutes (swapping trays halfway) or until golden in colour.
