
Here is Debbie Reid’s recipe for Zucchini Hot Dogs that are low on carbs and big on taste.
Ingredients
4 zucchinis halved lengthways
bag of hot dogs (containing at least 8)
1 cup grated cheese
1 large brown onion sliced
American mustard sauce
Tomato sauce
Instructions
Cook and brown the sliced onion in a pan with some oil.
Remove the ends of the halved zucchinis and scoop out the seeds with a spoon.
Drizzle both sides of zucchinis with oil and season with salt.
On a grill or barbecue cook the zucchinis for three or four minutes each side till nicely charred but not too soft.
Grill the hot dogs till charred on the outside and heated through.
Place the hot dogs on the zucchini(bun) and top with grated cheese, the cooked onion, and the sauces.
