Rescue crews rush to crash on Tatham Rd



There was a serious head-on collision on Tatham Rd at 6pm today, March 16.

The Casino Rescue Squad, NSW RFS, NSW Police and Fire Rescue NSW attended the incident at Tatham.

On arrival, rescue crews saw that two cars had crashed. A woman was still in one of the cars.

The VRA crew used hydraulic rescue gear to remove the woman.

The person from the other car was treated by paramedics.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter arrived and the 19-year-old woman who had been trapped in the car was treated at the scene for serious lower limb and internal injuries.

The woman was airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition for further treatment.

The second patient, age and sex unknown had leg injuries and was taken to Lismore Hospital by paramedics.

The road was closed for a number of hours.
