Rescue helicopter airlifts patients from Cedar Point and Larnook

In the past 24 hours the Westpac Rescue Helicopter has been on multiple missions during flooding in the Northern Rivers.

These included:-

Cedar Point: A man in his 50s requiring medical treatment was airlifted from a property to Lismore Base Hospital. He was in a stable condition.

Larnook: A 53 year old man suffering a medical condition was stretcher winched out of his property to Lismore Base Hospital. Due to inaccessibility the helicopter had to winch the helicopter critical care medical team into the property to treat the man.

The patient was then lifted by winch as he lay on a stretcher.

He was in a stable condition.

The rescue helicopter also attended incidents at Goonengerry and Coutts Crossing.

The helicopter also transported paramedics to Evans Head because of access issues with flooding.
