There was a yarding of 1435 head at the NRLX in Casino today, Wednesday, July 9.
Quality of young cattle improved this week in a stronger market with restockers keen to acquire cattle and paying a premium price for young cattle carrying weight and well bred weaner steers.
Restocker weaner steers over 200kg/lw were 30c to 40 c dearer selling from 328c to 466c, while restocker weaner heifers sold firm to slightly dearer depending on quality, ranging from 210c to 338c/kg.
Yearling steers met a stronger market selling from 360c to 422c, while yearling heifers sold from 282c to 328c/kg.
There were only a few grown steers with heavy weights toping at 320c/kg.
Heifers top 322c/kg. Cows were 4c to 5c dearer with 2 score medium weights selling from 222c to 255c, while 3 score cows averaged 267c and 4 score cows ranged from 275c to 292c/kg.
Heavy bulls reached a top price of 306c/kg.
