River heights steady or falling. Help for caravan relocation available

Most river locations have heights that are steady. Below minor flood warnings are in place in some places. Rainfall is easing.

Richmond River at Casino was still rising at 11.45am today, Friday, September 23 according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

At Kyogle it was at 2.98m and steady.

Myrtle Creek at Rappville was still rising. River heights were steady at Bungawalbin and falling at Woodburn and Evans Head.

Just in case you want to relocate your caravan to higher ground, the Woodburn Hub suggests the following places.

New Italy Museum complex rest stop M1 New Italy (no power, has amenities).

Casino Pony Club grounds at Casino Showground on Summerland Way. (enter main gate, turn left and park behind the Men’s Shed. (limited power, has amenities)

This is not an evacuation order but caravan owners should be prepared with a relocation destination in mind.
