After 23 years, Woodenbong had its rodeo back on July 20.
Renai Pearce and John O’Reilly organised the rodeo, not knowing how it would be received.
“We were completely blown away with how many people we had through the gate,” Renai said.
“We were hoping for 700–750 people and we got over 1500.”
These numbers not only meant the rodeo was a success, it raised $8229 for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
John and Renai with State MP Janelle Saffin presented the cheque to pilot Sam Hughes and air crew member Rod Morgan from Westpac Rescue Helicopter in Lismore today, Tuesday, July 29.
The good news is, John and Renai are planning their next rodeo.
“Hope to see you all next year,” Renai said.
