Neale Genge was a familiar face at the Casino RSM Club for more than 10 years.
He started a new job yesterday, Wednesday, May 1 as chief executive at Club Evans RSL in Evans Head.
“It’s the same curriculum, just a different textbook,” he said about his move.
After leaving Casino RSM Club, Neale headed to Tuncurry because his father was in hospital.
He worked at the Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club for six months.
“I took on the challenge of a new club going through a $5million renovation,” Mr Genge said.
But he was keen to get back to Richmond Valley and his family so a move to Evans Head suited him.
He has plans for Club Evans which has had a few leadership changes in the past year.
I want to get more involved in the community, Mr Genge said.
Part of that is being a sponsor to the Bombers junior rugby league team in Evans Head.
Changes are coming for the look of the club too with the Riverview Restaurant getting a makeover.
The new function area downstairs at the club is being renovated and is almost finished.
“It should be completed in the next couple of weeks, he said.
Mr Genge said he expects peaks and troughs in the number of customers at Club Evans RSL because of the tourist season.
While he has landed a similar job, Mr. Genge is now at a club where there are “sensational views” across the Evans River.
The club is looking to fill casual and fulltime vacancies for a chef, cook, kitchenhand, waitperson, bar supervisor and RSA & RCG certified experienced bar and gaming attendants according to the Club Evans website.
