Casino Rescue Squad was called to help the animal rescue charity WIRES with some trapped swallows in roof netting at a Casino service station at 3.43pm today, Friday, October 28.

When the rescue crew arrived, many of the birds had managed to escape through part of the netting that was in disrepair. Sadly, some swallows perished.

The Casino SES were called to see if they could help plug the holes in the netting to stop more birds getting in while a full repair was done.

These volunteers help not only people but all creatures great and small.
