About the Seat of Page

Page covers an area from Sapphire Beach in the south to Nimbin in the north on the coastal side, and from Nymboida in the south to the Queensland border on the inland side. The main towns include Casino, Dunoon, Evans Head, Grafton, Iluka, Kyogle, Lismore, Nimbin, Sapphire Beach and Wooli.

The seat was previously held by Ian Causley. who retired at the 2007 election, and Chris Gulaptis, former mayor of Maclean, was endorsed as the Nationals’ candidate. Labor selected Janelle Saffin who took the seat with a swing of around 8%. Saffin increased her majority in 2010, however was defeated in 2013 by the Nationals’ Kevin Hogan, who won with a swing of 6.71%. Saffin ran against Hogan in the 2016 election but did not regain the seat.
