Six fire crews were at a bushfire at Coraki at about 3pm today, Thursday, July 10.
The fire was burning in a dense swamp area making much of it inaccessible to firefighters.
A backburn was put in place to stop the fire spreading, some parts of the fire were expected to smoulder for a number of hours.
Units in attendance included Casino Fire and Rescue, Coraki Fire and Rescue, Evans Head Fire and Rescue plus Casino, Woodburn and Wyralla RFS.
The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
