The development application and environmental impact statement for the Richmond Valley Solar Farm at Myrtle Creek have been lodged with the State Government.
Ark Energy representatives said the EIS is on exhibition for comment until Wednesday, August 21.
The EIS includes a detailed project description, maps and technical assessments by independent specialists for social impacts, bushfire, water resources, including flooding, hazards and risks, glint and glare, traffic and transport, biodiversity, Aboriginal cultural heritage, historical heritage, soils, land and agriculture, economic impacts, noise and vibration and the cumulative impacts.
Ark Energy is holding a community drop-in style information session in Ellangowan during the exhibition period where residents can discuss the proposal with the project team.
The info session is at 4pm–6pm on Wednesday, August 14 at Ellangowan Community Hall, 1630 Ellangowan Road.

The solar farm project area is currently used for cattle grazing, and is located about 7km east of Rappville and 25km south of Casino.
The project involves a solar farm that will generate up to 500 megawatts and a long-duration battery energy storage system (BESS).
The BESS will use lithium-iron phosphate technology capable of providing a power capacity of 275 megawatts and an energy storage capacity of up to 2,200 megawatt hours over 8 hours.
