It only takes one idea to create something that has a long-lasting impact in your community.
If you have that idea, there are some grants you can apply for. There are eligibility criteria and you need to check that – the grants are not for individuals but for community groups.
Essential Energy is offering grants up to $15,000 covering these topics:
Environment: initiatives that support waste reduction, habitat restoration or community gardens.
Energy Transition: includes funding contributions for solar panels or electrifying community buildings.
Education: includes STEM education in schools and community organisations.
Resilience: includes providing resources that support communities affected by disaster events.
Applications close at 5pm, Monday, March 31. Go here to apply.
The decision on who gets the funding will be made May–June.

More grants
More grants are on offer through the State Government’s Community Building Partnership Program.
Incorporated not-for-profit community organisations and local councils are eligible to apply for grants of between $10,000 and $100,000.
For this round, grants must be for building, refurbishing or repairing community infrastructure, or for buying freestanding equipment or vehicles.
Guidelines for these grants are here.
Applications close at 5pm, Friday, February 21.
Successful organisations will be announced in August.
