A broken phone screen is the most common issue for customers to SOS Phone Repairs & Accessories Casino.

Business owner Hugh Arthur said he wasn’t planning to come to Casino but was asked by several people to set up a shop. So he did.

The Barker St shop, next to the Commercial Hotel, is the fifth shop Hugh and his family have opened.

There are two SOS shops in Ballina, one in Murwillumbah and one in Byron Bay.

The Lismore shop has been closed since the floods.

“The response has been incredible in Casino,” Hugh said.

“It is by far the best opening of all of our shops.”

SOS Phone Repairs specialises in iPhones and Samsung phones.

“We’ll have a crack at everything,” Hugh said.

There are two full time staff at the Casino shop because they have been so busy, not just with screen replacements but all kinds of phone issues. Staff aim to fix your phone problem in 30 minutes.

SOS Phone Repairs also works for school in iPad repairs and can do corporate work.

Hugh “fell into” running a phone repair business.

His family have a cattle farm with 250 head in Tenterfield that was impacted by the fires and floods.

That was the impetus to start a new business. Five shops later, they’re going strong.

The shop is open:

Monday to Thursday 9am-5pm

Friday 9am-4pm

Hugh is considering opening on Saturdays.
