Teen stabbed in targeted early morning attack

A teenage boy has died following a stabbing in Casino this morning.

About 1.20am on Saturday, June 25, emergency services were called to a home on McDougall St, Casino.

Upon arrival, police found a boy suffering stab wounds. He was treated by police and paramedics but died at the scene. 

He is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged 17.

A crime scene was established and a forensic examination carried out.

A search was conducted of the surrounding area with assistance from the dog unit and local police.

Detectives have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the teenager’s death, assisted by the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad. 

Initial inquiries suggest the incident is targeted.
