The Australian Defence Force will be holding a street parade in Casino on Saturday, April 2 starting at 11am.

The parade is an opportunity for residents to thank ADF members for their help in assisting the Richmond Valley community.

The parade starts at 11am and will go for half an hour. There will be 750 service men and women in the parade as well as the army band.

ADF personnel will gather on River St before making their way along Walker St with the parade finishing between North and Pratt streets.

Richmond Valley Council said people could bring a thank you placard, something to wave, or just be there with a great big smile.

Thousands of army personnel have been in the region helping with the flood recovery.

The parade will be a joyous event following this latest flood event.
