The local TV stars continue to shine.

Last Sunday it was Hogarth Range’s Southview Orchard for figs and Casino’s Our Cow for beef.

This Sunday, April 24, Evans Head features on Taste of Australia at 4.30pm on Channel 10.

Chef and former MasterChef contestant Hayden Quinn visited Richmond Valley and where better to get the best prawns than Evans Head.

He met Ben who catches prawns from the trawler Mako.

Ben and his father Bill meticulously rebuilt their trawler and it is the only operating trawler in the harbour at Evans Head that is able to cross the bar.

All the catch from Mako goes to Evans Head Fishermen’s Co-op.

Hayden and Ben were chatting about their favourite prawn dishes.

Hayden: My fav is prawn roll. What’s your favourite Ben?

Ben: Prawn, prawn.

The Surf & Turf episode on Taste of Australia will feature a new recipe with Ben’s prawns.
