Teacher and musician Jason Ayla-Spare has organised a night of talent with the Rising Sounds gig at the Commercial Hotel this Saturday, June 6.
Hotel manager Diego Godoy said Jason performed at the Tatts Hotel in Casino.
“The idea, for the Commercial, is to get behind the community and support locals at whatever capacity we can,” Diego said.
“This will be a show to get behind the local youth, with a paid gig. To give them experience in a real show.”
At Rising Sounds there will be performances starting from 5pm in the garden at the Commercial Hotel in Walker Street. The bands and singers include Purple Nurple, Soundbourne, Angel Margaret and The Smugglerz.
The Smugglerz are a five piece band from Trinity College in Lismore.
Casino High students make up Soundbourne – they bonded over their love of 90s alternative rock music. They came third in the Beef Week Busking Comp.
Purple Nurple are students from St Mary’s High play classic rock anthems with high energy.
