If you’ve got a spare $2.2million, the church in Broadwater is for sale.
Previously a cafe called Our Daily Bread, the site at 194 Baraang Drive includes a three-bedroom modern house behind the church.
The 1938 church was for sale in 2009 for $269,000 and then in 2019 it was listed for $1.5million.
Real estate agent Paul Stobbie from Northern Rivers Property Group is selling the property.
He said all prospective buyers will be advised about the flooding in February-March 2022.
In the floods, the church went under like many of the homes and businesses in Broadwater.
The blurb says the property is half an hour from Byron Bay and suggests the church could be used as a wedding venue or a nightclub called Holy Water. Or maybe it could be converted into a theatre, a fine dining restaurant, or be used as a home the spiel says.
The selling agent suggests Broadwater could become the next Newrybar.
Locals are likely to have something to say about that.
Behind the church is a three bedroom house. The blurb said it needs a “few touches” to complete it.
The block itself is 0.4 hectares (1 acre) with views in every direction.
Will it sell for $2.2million? Who knows but it’s going to need some floodproofing.
The property is listed here. The drone photos and interior shots are stunning. See more below.
