Three covid deaths in Northern Rivers, 683 new cases

683 new covid cases were confirmed in the Northern Rivers today.

The Northern NSW Local Health District reported three deaths.

A man in his 50s and a woman in her 70s from the Byron Shire area died. Both were not vaccinated.

A woman in her 90s from the Grafton area who died had received two doses of the vaccine.

There are 35 covid positive patients in hospital in Northern NSW with four of these in ICU.

The new cases are located in the following LGAs:

Richmond Valley 29

Kyogle 7

Tweed 253

Lismore 84

Clarence Valley 54

Byron 139

Ballina 115

Tenterfield  2

(Tenterfield is in a different Local Health District, but postcodes put cases in NNSWLHD)

NSW reported 38,625 new covid cases today.

Across the state there are 1738 people in hospital with 134 people in ICU.

Eleven deaths were reported deaths in NSW.

Of the 38,625 cases reported to 8pm last night, 6,968 are from Western Sydney Local Health District, 6,444 are from South Eastern Sydney LHD, 6,076 are from South Western Sydney LHD, 4,172 are from Northern Sydney LHD, 4,162 are from Sydney LHD, 2,430 are from Hunter New England LHD, 1,740 are from Nepean Blue Mountains LHD, 1,606 are from Central Coast LHD, 915 are from Illawarra Shoalhaven LHD, 879 are from Western NSW LHD, 683 are from Northern NSW LHD, 658 are from Murrumbidgee LHD, 473 are from Mid North Coast LHD, 355 are from Southern NSW LHD, 64 are from Far West LHD, seven are in correctional settings and 993 are yet to be assigned to an LHD.
