TRIAL: Catching cane toads with free Landcare kit

Clarence Landcare is trialling cane toad collection kits in readiness for a larger rollout to the public.
The kits include a series of containers for cane toad collection and the RSPCA approved fridge and freezer method of euthanasia, a comprehensive cane toad control handbook, cane toad identification cards to distinguish toads from native frogs and compostable bags.
Landcare’s Tamar Cohen said they needed help.
“We’re asking volunteers to trial these items for 2-3 weeks, then provide us with feedback via a short Jotform survey emailed to you at the end of this period,” Ms Cohen said.
“You get to keep the kits and will go in the draw for a ‘toad busting’ prize.
“If you’re keen to have some nocturnal fun, catching toads and spotting the odd frog, lizard, bat or owl, contact us and arrange to pick up your cane toad collection kit.”
