There were two crashes near Tabulam this morning on New Year’s Day.
At 1am, emergency services were called to the first crash on the Bruxner Highway near Tabulam.
The Casino Rescue Squad was called out after reports of a person trapped in the car.

When the crew arrived no one was trapped and the VRA Rescue crew helped paramedics with a conscious patient who was found in bushland near the highway.
The patient (age and sex unknown) was treated for minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Lismore Hospital in a stable condition.
Five hours later the Casino Rescue Squad was called back to Tabulam at 6.19am to another crash and reports of a person trapped.
When the crew arrived, a car had crashed about 20 metres off a cliff and into the river. The car was leaking fuel/oil.
Police were unsure if there was anyone still in the car.

A Casino Rescue Squad operator stripped down and entered the cold water to check the car for any passengers but none was found.
NSW RFS and Fire and Rescue including a hazmat team were called to deal with the leaking fuel/oil.
