Two die when car hits tree and catches on fire

A man and a woman died in a car crash at Ellangowan last night, Saturday, December 9.

At about 8.50pm, emergency crews rushed to Ellangowan Road and found a sedan had left the road, hit a tree and caught on fire.

Passers-by stopped to assist but the 18 year old man driving the sedan had died.

They gave first aid to an 18 year old woman, who was the only passenger, however, she, too, died at the scene.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway.
