Emergency services were called to a car crash with reports two people were trapped at 3.50pm today, Friday, July 12.
Casino VRA Rescue NSW confirmed a car crashed into tree coming to rest on its side and down an embankment at Drake.
The male driver, 75, was helped out of the Nissan SUV by passersby but the passenger, a 59 year old woman, was still trapped when emergency services arrived.
Paramedics started treating the trapped woman while rescue crews stabilised the car to prevent further movement.
The rescue crew used hydraulic and battery-operated rescue tools in the extraction process.
After about two hours, the woman was released and placed into an ambulance for further treatment as she had multiple injuries. The driver was also transported for further evaluation of his injuries.
Police are inquiring into the cause of the crash.
The rescue squad crew said it was excellent collaboration and teamwork from all emergency services including NSW Ambulance, RFS, Police and VRA Rescue NSW.
