War memorials in Barkers Vale and Mallanganee are among 13 memorials in NSW to share in $124,239 funding for remediation works.

The State Government’s Community War Memorials Fund will give Barkers Vale Public School $9450 for conservation works to the Barkers Vale War memorial including repairs to the steps and mortar, cleaning of marble tablets and flagpole supports.

The Mallanganee Memorial Hall has been allocated $9979 for conservation works to the hall including repairs to timberwork, plumbing and fire doors and providing access for people with a disability.

Mallanganee Memorial Hall Committee secretary Judithe Lovick-andrews said she was delighted with the funding.

“The hall is in great need of repair as it is now 102 years old and this will help us keep it in good shape for future generations,” Judithe  said.

Round 2 of the program opens on Remembrance Day, November 11. For more information, go here.
