UPDATE: New covid case in Kyogle, NSW Health stops reporting rural venues of concern

Susanna Freymark

Two new covid cases were reported in the Northern Rivers today.
One case is in the Kyogle LGA and one in Lismore LGA, both are linked to existing cases.
There has now been a total of 175 cases in the Northern NSW Local Health District since June 16.
As of today, Monday, November 15, NSW Health will change its reporting of covid in regional and rural NSW.
A NNSWLHD representative said they would still provide the geographic location of new covid cases but not venues of concern.
“Where there is a new venue of concern for our LHD, we’ll continue to report that locally as we have been doing,” the representative said.
The reporting for the actual positive covid cases has not changed, and you can still find the postcode and LGA breakdowns on the web here – opens in new tab
This change does not affect NSW Health’s contact tracing work.
NSW Health will continue to contact people diagnosed with covid and their close contacts, and all people who need to follow specific health advice.
People who have been to a venue around the same time as a person with covid will receive a case location alert from Service NSW.
