COVID: As we come out of lockdown on Monday, how are our vaccinations tracking?

The State Government announced the state-wide opening on Monday, October 11 after 70% vaccination rates have been met.

What does this mean for our region?

Seven new cases in were announced today in the Northern Rivers with details yet to be released,

Healthy North Coast reported a 84% first dose vaccination rate of those aged 16 and  54% of people who fully vaccinated.  

In Richmond Valley,  almost 50% full vaccinations have been recorded while 78,7% have had a first vaccine dose.

In Kyogle LGA,  50.3% are fully vaccinated and 77.7% have received their first vaccination.

30,000 Pfizer doses will be made available across the region this week, as well as increased supplies of Moderna and AstraZeneca. 

As restrictions ease across on Monday, Casino and Kyogle will come out of lockdown with new rules in line with the rest of NSW for vaccinated people.

The changes will allow up to 10 visitors (not counting children 12 and under) to a home (previously five) and the cap on outdoor gatherings will increase to 30 people (previously 20 with weddings and funerals allowed to have to 100 people in attendance (previously 50).

Indoor pools will also be re-opened for swimming lessons, squad training, lap swimming, and rehab activities.

Further restrictions will be lifted when the state hits a 80% vaccination rate.

All roadmap freedoms at 70 and 80% will continue to be for fully vaccinated people only, the State Government said.
