A small village cafe has had international recognition.

A luxury online publication in United Kingdom has released its annual restaurant awards featuring restaurants and cafes from around the world.

And Bonalbo’s Powick’s Pantry has won the Best Local Homemade Cafe 2023.

Cafe owners Simon and Emma Powick have no idea how they were nominated for the awards.

“We don’t know much about it really. They haven’t told us if it was done through a customer nomination or if it was a ‘secret shopper’ style thing,” Simon said.

“We’re just really happy that either way it means that we’re having a positive impact in the community and that’s the biggest win for us.”

The LuxLife publication said it aims to “shine a light on the best eateries around the world”.

Congratulations to Powick’s Pantry. The cafe is open for Mother’s Day Breakfast tomorrow, Sunday, May 14, 9am-2pm.
