A large crowd gathered to watch entrants in the Watermelon Eating Competition at Kyogle’s Giant Pumpkin and Watermelon Festival yesterday, Saturday, January 17.

The competition was hosted by Summerland Bank and plenty of children and adults lined up for a turn to eat as much watermelon as they could in 10 seconds.

It was Aviv O’Callaghan’s fourth time winning the Under 18s section of the comp. Aviv is from Blackhorse Creek and he ate 195grams of watermelon.
