Police and emergency services were on the scene where a water truck flipped over going around a bend on the Bruxner Highway, close to but not on the Tabulam Bridge.

The crash was on the Tenterfield side of the bridge.

There was thick fog over the Clarence River this morning.

At about 8am today, with thick fog hanging over the Clarence River, the truck flipped over and was lying on its side – part on the highway and the rest of the truck was through the railing and over the edge of the road.

Neither the driver nor the dog appeared to have received any injuries.

NSW Ambulance said no one needed to be transported to hospital.

Driver and dog were not injured.

The male driver, 27, was treated at the scene for shock.

A roadside breath test returned a negative result.

Frazers Cutting and Tabulam RFS were on the scene.

The earlier version of this story had “A witness said the driver and his staffy were ejected from the truck when it flipped.” IndyNR.com has since been informed by the truck’s owner that that is incorrect. We apologise for the error.

RFS units were at the crash site.
