Weather affected cattle sales at the NRLX today, Wednesday, July 2 with a yarding of only 600 head, which was down by 1000 from the previous week.
The deteriorating wet and cold conditions forced many producers to sell their light calves off the cows, and there was also a large percentage of plain conditioned young cattle through the sale.
The market varied considerably which was mainly quality driven.
Restocker weaner steers sold from 228c to 400c, while restocker weaner heifers ranged from 188c to 338c/kg.
Restocker yearling steers sold to 368c and yearling heifers toped at 338c/kg.
There were only a few grown steers and heifers with both the steers and heifers selling to 344c/kg.
The mixed yarding of cows saw little change with 2 and 3 score medium weights selling from 254c to 262c, and the 4 score cows ranged from 275c to 285c/kg.
