Households and businesses in country NSW are in nine of the top 10 electorate locations for rooftop solar use.
The state leads the country with more than a million homes and businesses with rooftop solar – a third of all NSW homes.
According to the State Government, in the final quarter of last year, rooftop solar and solar farms combined provided 32% of the state’s electricity.
The Barwon electorate in the state’s northwest leads with 24,537 homes and businesses with rooftop solar, followed closely by the Northern Rivers region with 22,743 in Ballina and 22,162 in Lismore (which includes Kyogle).
Clarence is 8th on the list with 20,506 rooftop solar buildings which includes Casino.

An average four-person household with a 6.6kW solar system could save up to $1,400 per year, the State Government said.
State MP Janelle Saffin welcomes statistics showing that Lismore electorate has the third highest uptake of rooftop solar systems in NSW.
“Households and businesses in the Northern Rivers region were early adopters of this energy-efficient, bill-saving technology and it’s great to see that that trend remains strong to this day,” Ms Saffin said.
