Photos from Razorback Lookout in Evans Head were sent to IndyNR.com on Tuesday, April 15 showing a sign warning people about the safety of the railing.
The sign said:
DANGER Do not lean against railing (it may collapse)
Orange flags were put along a section of the lookout fence by an unknown person.
IndyNR.com asked Richmond Valley Council about the condition of the lookout.
The council said it is aware the fence is loose and the building and facility maintenance officer was appraising the situation today, Wednesday, April 16.
The council gave an update today, Thursday, April 17.
“The fence has been made safe, however, it will be replaced with a stronger one in coming weeks,” the council said.
Razorback Lookout is a popular spot for locals and visitors with its expansive views of the ocean and the coast.
